Arboriculture

Richard first became interested in Arboriculture when working in the West Midlands in the 1980s. He was responsible for projects involving large scale woodland planting schemes on land reclamation sites and residential estates. Later he won a scholarship to travel extensively in North America whilst researching an MA dissertation that considered facets of Urban Forestry.

Working overseas in the 1990s Richard helped to plan reclamation schemes involving mass woodland planting in Hong Kong, and later in Western Australia used direct tree seeding to establish native bushland alongside new highway works near Perth. The latter project won awards for infrastructure planning and water efficient design.

Richard is a member of the Arboricultural Association, holds the AA Technicians Certificate (TechArborA) and is presently studying for the QCF Level 6 Diploma in Arboriculture (a new degree level qualification).
